What the season is for
Underneath the reading and the listening sits the Order’s Way of Life. When you have worked through this list, the discernment conversation is where you decide whether to go on to the Season of Preparation.
The Rule
Three vows. Two practices beneath each.
True to Christ
- Living prayerfully A daily rhythm of prayer and worship, on the conviction that God is present in everything, always.
- Celebrating creativity Colour, generosity and imagination treated as ways of expressing that same presence.
Kind to People
- Practising hospitality Making room for others in your home and your heart as though each one were Christ arriving.
- Mercy and justice Honouring God’s presence in the poor and the oppressed — through compassion that costs, plus reconciliation and advocacy.
Gospel to the Nations
- Mission and evangelism Showing God to be present and relevant, in word and deed, precisely where he seems absent or ignored.
- Learning and discipleship Worship with the mind, and forming disciples who can carry Christ into every part of society.
Every one of the six is phrased around God’s presence — celebrating it, expressing it, making room for it, honouring it in the poor, demonstrating it where it seems missing.
